About Postpartum Depression (PPD)

It is estimated that postpartum depression affects 1 in 7 women. PPD encompasses a range of symptoms including feelings of sadness, anxiety, irritability, and exhaustion and can occur at any time during pregnancy or with the first 4 weeks after childbirth.

While resources to support women experiencing PPD are available, existing treatments are not uniformly effective, especially given that every individual’s healing journey is unique. With the RECONNECT Trial, Reunion is exploring a new therapy that may provide fast relief with a single dose, which would enable mothers to resume daily activities with minimal interruptions.

Postpartum depression can have a severe impact on a mother and her family. Prompt recognition and intervention are vital. If you need immediate help, or you feel you may harm yourself or your baby, please call 911 or your local emergency number.
